Fukui Prefecture – Travel Back in Time to Samurai Era Japan

The Ichijodani Asakura Family Site was once ruled over by the powerful Asakura Family, before Oda Nobunaga's army burned it down in 1573. At the nearby Ichijodani Asakura Family Site Museum, the castle town arises from its some 450-year slumber through over 1,700,000 archeological artifacts, an impressive three-dimensional miniature model of Ichijodani, a full-size reproduction of the residence the fifth head of the family ―Asakura Yoshikage― used to live in, and cosplaying (among many other exciting things!) Look for #ExperienceFukui on social media for more travel ideas and local tips!
