Nagano

Nagano – Karuizawa

Karuizawa's picturesque location, deep within the mountainscapes of the Japan Alps - yet just 60 minutes away from central Tokyo on the bullet train - have made it a sought-after retreat for Japanese VIPs and international celebrities for decades, including the likes of John Lennon and the previous Japanese emperor. Upmarket dining and shopping, night-time safaris, an abundance of winter sports options and high-end hotels make this the perfect retreat from the bustling capital - or an idyllic stopover for those en route to Matsumoto, Kanazawa, Gifu and beyond.

Karuizawa New Art Museum - Museum - Kengo Kuma

Located just five minutes from the station, the Karuizawa New Art Museum is recognized as a pre-eminent contemporary example of architecture. One of the reasons is that the Birch Moss Chapel designed by Kengo Kuma in May 2015 is located here, under the collaboration project with French contemporary artist Jean-Michel Othoniel. Kengo is known as the architect who recently created the new Olympics Stadium in Tokyo. This is surrounded by 360 degrees of glass, with trunks of white birch trees helping to blend into the surroundings.

Hyogo – Cozy Cafes in Kinosaki: Great Views, Peaceful Atmospheres, and Delicious Coffee

While COVID-19 is keeping folks around the world at home, we would like to bring Kinosaki Onsen to you. We will be sending photos and information about our area, this time about Kinosaki's cozy cafés. When the time is right to travel again, we'd love for you to come. We are working on guidelines to keep our area a safe place to travel in the future.

While Kinosaki Onsen has many traditional shops and sights, a number of modern, stylish cafés (https://visitkinosaki.com/dining-search/?_sft_dining-cat=cafe&_sft_dining-area=kinosaki-onsen) have emerged, allowing guests to relax even more during their stay in town.

Cats' narrow road is the 200 meter narrow path stretching from the foot of Senkoji ,the landmark of Onomichi on the mountain's slope, through the east of Ushitora Shrine.
