Kochi Prefecture – Ogata Whale Watching
One of the gems of coastal area of Kochi is 4-km long Irino Beach, so pretty that it is considered a “natural art gallery”. And Ogata Whale Watching, located at the end of this beach, has been offering whale watching tours for over 30 years. From April to mid-October, the coast is home to pods of Bryde’s whales, and we get to watch these majestic creatures (as well as dolphins) play and raise their young. Thanks to the warm Kuroshio Current, tours have a high rate of success in actually seeing whales during the season!
