Kyoto City Tourism – Gion Matsuri Festival

Dating back to 868, The Gion Matsuri in Kyoto is a vibrant and cherished cultural event that takes place every July. The highlight of the celebration takes place on the 17th and the 24th when elaborate processions of stunningly decorated floats, accompanied by music and traditional performances, parade through the main streets of the city. Throughout the entire month of July both visitors and locals can immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere, marvel at the breathtaking displays and enjoy delicious street food. As a symbol of Kyoto's cultural heritage Gion Matsuri serves as the perfect occasion to bring together people from all over to honor the city's past and present.

Toyooka Tourism Innovation – Stand Up Paddle Boarding in Takeno

Set sail on a paddleboard and traverse the crystal clear blue waters of Takeno, a retro seaside town north of Kinosaki Onsen and home to one of the country's best beaches. With the instruction of a certified local guide, find your balance, stand up, and float around to hidden gems dotting the coastline. Appreciate the local wonder of Hasakari Rock, a fallen stone that evaded the waters below by wedging itself in between two slabs of rock.
Venture to Monster Cave, created when an ogre smashed a piece of the coastline and tried to steal it for himself.
